Terms of use

Last updated October 16, 2026

Record Tribe is a free, non-commercial service, run by Corey Brown, that builds a website from your Discogs record collection. By creating a site, you agree to these terms.

Your site

One Discogs account makes one site, and you must be the person who owns that account.

  • You must be 13 or older to create a site.
  • You choose your site's address. Some names are reserved. An address that pretends to be someone else, or a business you do not run, may be changed or removed.
  • You keep your password safe. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
  • Your site is shown on Record Tribe's main page unless you turn that off in your settings.

What you put on it

What you upload or write stays yours. You let Record Tribe show it on your site, and on Record Tribe's main page where your site appears there.

You may only upload photos and writing you have the right to share. Not allowed:

  • anything illegal
  • harassment, threats or hate aimed at people or groups
  • sexual content
  • spam, or anything that tricks people
  • pretending to be someone else
  • trying to break into, slow down or misuse the service or anyone's site

Family and friends

You can invite people to your site to log their listens and loves. You decide who to invite, and these terms apply to them too.

  • Each person's listens and loves are theirs. You cannot change them.
  • Their first names appear on your site next to the records they listened to or loved.
  • You can remove someone from your site at any time.

Discogs

Your site is built from your Discogs collection, with your permission. Record Tribe only reads your collection; it never changes anything on Discogs.

  • Album and artist details come from Discogs and are kept up to date with it.
  • You can withdraw the permission at any time in your Discogs settings. Your site then stops updating.
  • This application uses Discogs' API but is not affiliated with, sponsored or endorsed by Discogs. 'Discogs' is a trademark of Zink Media, LLC.

Free and non-commercial

Record Tribe is free. There are no ads, no fees, and nothing for sale. If that ever changes, you will be told well before it happens.

Ending

You can delete your site at any time with the Delete my site button on the Your site page of your admin. It goes offline straight away. For 7 days you can still log in and restore it, exactly as it was. After that, its pages, your uploads, your writing, and your family and friends' accounts and activity are deleted, and its address is free for anyone to use. Copies in old backups are gone within 30 days.

  • A site that breaks these terms may be suspended or removed. Where it is safe to, you will be told why first.
  • If Record Tribe ever closes, owners will be told at least 30 days ahead.

No guarantee

Record Tribe is offered as it is, by one person, for free. It may have mistakes, go offline, or lose data. To the extent the law allows, Record Tribe and Corey Brown are not responsible for any loss that comes from using it.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change, the change is announced on Record Tribe's main page and in every site owner's admin, and emailed to owners, before it takes effect. Using Record Tribe after that means you accept the new terms.

Which law applies

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, in the United States.
